In a valley ready to set sail is The Rock of the Floating Fortress (named this because of its resemblance to a massive ship). It is in-between Siouluan and Tianpu. This valley is home to the Ku Hua fish. The Ku Hua fish can only live in pristine water; otherwise it will perish. This clear river is named “Squacing’ in Tayal, and “BaiShi’ in Chinese. Down the river and behind an elementary school is the famous Siouluan Hot Spring. Most people go there to relax, play, and bathe their feet in the cleansing water. The Siouluan Hot Spring was the first famous hot spring in Jianshih. It has clear, clean and scentless water running through its veins. Further down the river is Siouluan village which is known for their Maple Trees. Many people go there to hike and ride bikes through the wonderfully scented scenery.
