In Jhensiibao, there is a speical agricultural product which looks like sweet potato, but seems like pear when eating. It is called "Tianshan snow lotus," or "chrysanthemum yam." It was told that "chrysanthemum yam" was brought to Taiwan for trialcultivation by the Taiya pastor, Ah Dong, from Canada when he participated in the World Aborigines Conference. It was grown to improve the living condition of the local Taiya tribesmen.

Its Chinese medicine name is snow lotus flower. It is goodfor heat eliminating and depoisoning. Snow lotusmainly takes care of the lung, cures unnatural menopause, aching back and arthritis. It is also told that it can enliven the sexual power. But thismedicine is of hot nature. After eating, you will sweat a lot. Of course it is not a magical medicine available to cure all diseases. Together with swine bones, the fruit of snow lotus can be cooked as a tasty soup. It can also be cooked into different popular dishes. Pigean pea [Cajanus cajan (Linn.) Millsp.] is grown on a shrub. Its butterfly-like corolla is yellow in color. The pea, also called wood pea, is edible. Aborigines like to grow pigeon pea, and they usually call it foreign pea. The seed is round but flat. The seed skin is dark red. The maturedpeas can be picked to make drug. * Extremely Sweet Corn

* Yam

* Glutinous Rice Wine
