In the past the cloths of Taiya Tribe were mainly weaved by ramie. This weaving machine was made of wood. Only one-man operation can a piece of cloth be weaved in threads. The cloth weaving skill of Taiya Tribe is regarded as the best among various tribes. Its skill is complicated, and the patterns are exquisite. Taiya tribesmen like to grind the seashell container into seashell beads, and stick them on their traditional clothes. The original material of the weaving and embroidery of Taiya Tribe was ramie. Later on, after Taiya tribesmen contacted with people outside, they started using color-dyed cotton threads and flaxen threads to weave cloths with square pattern, zigzag pattern or triangular pattern. The weaving machine used was called waist machine or horizontal portable machine. After the thread, being perpendicular to the weaving axis, is twisted and spun, it is twisted on the weaving axis. In times of weaving, the feet withstood the machine with one end of the cloth tying around the waist of the weaver.
